Just got my new FZ140E from Circuit City and so far I'm impressed with the looks but I have two problems already.

First, I've noticed a fair amount of light leakage coming from the bottom of the screen as well as the top two corners. It's not that noticeable while looking at the desktop but under a black screen it really stands out. Also, I see that the HDMI port is not there. I thought it came on the FZ? Can I still hook up a monitor with 1600x1080 resolution screen up to the laptop via a different port and will it be of lower quality?

I really need your help. I hope I didn't get the wrong one because I'm considering returning this and getting the AR instead. This is my first laptop and I want to make sure I won't regret later on.

Well this doesn't really do me any good as I was originally going to purchase one directly from Sony but I leave for college on the 18th so I would not get the notebook to me in time. I had to pick one fast and had to buy it from a retail store.

Anyone else with some insight because I getting more used to the notebook but the light leakage is kind of a nuisance when watching movies but I can deal with it if I can hook up an external monitor to it. This way I can stick to the external for watching movies while doing everything else on the notebook screen.

Looks like someone forgot to do their research before buying....

It's OK, blame Sony and then making a Sony bash thread. That's what seems to be popular lately.
