so amazon.com had certain sz6 models for sale (650, 660, 670, 691) on the brink of the release of the sz7 series. so until yesterday the sz650n/c was $1499.99 and i was planning to order today, until i see that the price has been raised to $1799.99....yet, the sz660n/c is still $1529.99 and all the other models are the same price as they were. even more interesting...the sz650n/c is more expensive than the sz670n/c lol. so just thought i'd let everyone know that the prices seem to go up as their sales go up....

i just ordered my sz660n/c (even though i dont need the wwan) so it should be here thursday.

What I think happened is Amazon sold out of the 650s. Notice how they are now listed as being sold by CLEARANCE CLUB (not Amazon.com)? The 660s have been at that price since early December. I know since I bought one at that same price right when they slashed prices. I think they will keep it at that price or lower it even moreso until they sell out their stock.

It's interesting to note Amazon's fluctuating VAIO prices though! And if you happen to buy your notebook and within 30 days they lower it even more, e-mail them and they will price match you the new low price they are selling it for.

it seems that you're right about the sz650n/c...i guess i was a day late...but i doubt i'd mind the antenna much..

as for the price matching...will they just refund the difference into the credit card account?

Yeah, that's how it works pretty much. Send them a note through your Amazon account and they'll get back to you in a day or two with a confirmation letting you know they credit you the difference. I just had them do it on my TZ I bought a week before Christmas, which they lowered a few days ago. Otherwise, I would have hated to return it and "rebuy" it again to get it at the new price 10 days after buying it... (some people might take it for granted, but other retailers like SonyStyle made me do that one time).

If the antenna does bother you a lot, you can always remove it and buy a cap for the hole. You should be able to order it from Sony themselves, or eBay.
