Is there anyway that I can disable the beeping noise that my SZ makes when I use the Fn key? Its not a big deal, just a little embarassing if I find that I forgot to mute my laptop during class, or want to adjust the brightness of the screen.

I've tried going to Control Panel > VAIO Event Service, but it doesn't give me the option to change anything within the program...only to uninstall the entire thing!

Rename the pi.wav file in %programfiles%\Sony\VAIO Event Service to something else.

Wow! thanks! I feel like they designed that beep to annoy people. Now if I could just get the damned fn keys to consistently change the screen brightness.

What do you mean by 'consistently change the screen brightness'?
