I recently purchased a new Sony VAIO A290 17" for an executive at my company. He loves the notebook but since his office is mostly floor to ceiling windows in bright and sunny Florida, the glare is bad on the XBrite screen and is his only complaint.
Are their any options to help reduce the glare?
The usually reliable Google yeilded zero results for this issue. Most glare topics don't cover 17" high end laptops.
I'd appreciate any advice.

No, there is no way, unless there are less lights in the room. Another option would to get one without the XBRTIE, of course you wouldn't be able to get a 17" screen without it in a Sony.

That's an ironic question -- an XBRITE anti-glare shield would basically turn it into a non-xbrite monitor. You might try finding a large piece of one of those PDA screen protectors to stick on the screen...
