I'd like to buy a TX, but the price is killing me.

Dell offers discounts all the time. Right now the Dell 710m is 34% off, plus I get an extra 12% + 5% discount through my company. That makes the 710m very tempting.

Before I buy the Dell... does anyone know if Sony offers any discounts? And, more importantly, how to get them?

    Thanks in advance...

Maybe free shipping. Best bet is retail with rebates. I got a 10% off two years ago, but have not seen one since. CC and BB usually have rebates on the TX. BTW, I no longer have the pics of the 700 vs. TX. Sorry.

Sony doesn't usually offer discounts - just free shipping sometimes as mentioned. I believe you can obtain a student discount from Sony's site though. Currently, the have some free upgrades and are putting a new "trade-in" notebook program.

Unless you have a total piece of junk to trade in, that trade-in program is a joke. The payout is really, really sad.

The TX is for ballers only. Better save your pennies :)

    Sony? Discounts? lol!

The tech support wouldn't even know what "discount" is.
