I recently got the Sony Vaio CS320 and really like it a lot. Highly recommend it!
However it is doing one thing that I find a bit odd (and rather annoying) with the fan noise. Mainly the unit / fan is silent. However every few minutes it kicks the fan into a higher gear for just about a second or two, then goes silent again.
This happens when the unit is plugged in and when its on battery. It also happens regardless of the power setting on the unit. When the unit is more active then it happens a bit more frequently. When its mostly idle it may be further (minutes) between these brief periods of the higher fan.
The thing I am wondering is whether this is normal operation for the unit. If it is, then that's acceptable with me. However if its not, I want to get it serviced. And at the same time, I don't want to bother sending it in for service only to get it back with Sony saying it is fine.
Does anyone with a CS series experience the same thing? Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

I have a CS series myself and this is absolutely normal behavior.
