Any one know if any of the sony style laptops - more over FW series In canada have a keybaord WITHOUT Bilingual Keyboards? Im really choked I didnt even notice it but after typing on the keyboard for couple of days it really sucks and messes up my keystrokes. Enter key is tottally messed up on it. And the left shift key is cut in half.

i stopped by my sony store and took a look at their models and all of them do have Bilingual keyboards, on sonystyle.ca all the pre configured models are Bilingual, so you might be out of luck if you bought pre configured.
My CTO comes in on Tuesdays so i'll take a look at it but on my order there is no indication of a Bilingual keyboard.

You are out of luck. All Sony computer now come with the crappy bilingual keyboard. Another case of Quebec taking over. Less than 10% of the population needs this crap and we all get it. The keys that are now goofed up are the "Enter" button, it's cut in half to add a key and the left "Shift" is cut in half to add another key. Both cases cause great problems in reaching a couple of the most used keys. Thanks Quebec!!

At the Sony Store... the FW290 are, but the 390/510/520/etc. models aren't.

I'm hoping the FW590 CTO are NOT bilingual. Can anyone confirm/deny?

I'm from Quebec and I hate Quebec keyboards. I use US ones on both my desktop and laptop (but configured into French Canadian under Windows in order to be able to do éèùç). I switch to US mode while doing something that requires []{} (the later 2 not even do-able on a French keyboard). I wish our society would try to not think that using English things will kill us sometimes...

Is it possible that you buy one from the US website and has them shipped it to you at a reasonable cost of course.

No, you can't. Sony's aren't customizable in Canada and it sucks. Lenovo lets you choose between US, Canada multi or Canadian French. =/

Actually, Sony laptops are customisable in Canada, but *only* on the English site. I emailed asking about the keyboard on the CTO's since I noticed that the French side doesn't allow customisation, and they said that they're only in English and that bilingual keyboards are not available.
