    Hi, everybody!

I have a Sony VAIO sz340p laptop with 4Gb of RAM. But all my BIOS (R0091N0) can see is only 3Gb.

My question is: do I have any chance to make BIOS see all 4Gb?
    Maybe with BIOS firmware upgrade..

    Thanks for your answers!

I'd bet your BIOS sees all 4gb, but Windows only sees a bit over 3gb, and that's because 32-bit Windows doesn't support more ram than that.

Even with a 64-Bit OS you will not see 4GB, because your motherboard does not support it. However, the newer 600 and 700 series SZ's will see the full 4GB when under a 64-Bit OS.

My SZ260 is reporting 4gb - see my avatar. I know the Vista OS is not addressing all of it. Well, I don't know but that is what I read many times when this topic comes up. I wonder if it would speed up the system to make a ramdrive out of the 800mb that the OS is not using or if the ramdrive would take the 800mb from the used or "available" 3.2gb?
