I know I just received my FE890N/H no more than a week ago, and I'm content with it, but I'm having a hard time getting used to the size of a 15 inch notebook. I've been so used to my old Dell 700M's smaller screen and overall smaller size, and I miss it. In the performance point of view, the FE890 is more than adequate.

I was wondering if anyone has any new news on what is coming up for the 2007 Vaio Line. Particularly with the SZ line. My little brother has already offered to purchase the FE890 from me in a month or so. I was wondering if there is anything new coming up in the coming months that would be worth waiting for, and if anyone has any news on new notebooks from Sony. Any help and input on this is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I wish Sony had a 14" lineup with a good dedicated graphics card. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

A new Intel's platform is under development (Santa Rosa - Centrino Pro) and might be available soon, perhaps in May.

I think (and hope) Sony will "upgrade" to it. That's why I didn't buy my SZ yet! :D

Yea, a 14" might just be the size I was looking for. I wanted something slightly larger than the 12" 700M, but I guess the 15" just seems too big.

Gonna look into the Centrino Pro more. I can hold out till may to get a new sony. My little brother can just barrow the laptop till then when he needs it. I appreciate the replies guys, thanks.

I just checked Japanese Vaio web site and found 2 new models other than series in US. one is G series spec: 12.1 XGA 11.5 hours battery price range: approx $1600-2400. the other is BX series (not sure it is new ot demestic version, spec: 14.1 or 15.4, 1400x1050, price range: 1400 to 1500. they will introduce US market 6 to 12 months after domestic release.

The SZ is being refreshed but there are minor upgrades as far as hardware is concerned. The main difference is that Vista is being installed instead of XP. I'm sure a Santa Rosa version will follow eventually.

There are a bunch of people here at NBR who are interested in the VAIO G and BX--so hopefully they do make it to the US.

    I appreciate the replies guys

This is some info I found on the Sony's BX Series: http://b2b.sony.com/Solutions/page.do?page=/BXShowcase/bxSpecs.html&name=BX%20Specifications

I'm not sure how dated the information is though. I'm liking the 14" model, but I don't believe it's widescreen. I wished Sony implemented the hybrid video technology that they have among the SZ line. Looks interesting and I'll be keeping an eye on this, and decide on a notebook by June.

EDIT: I think maybe the BX640 does have the Hybrid Video function, I'm not too sure.

I hope too the 14'1 will make it back to VAIO line-up :)
