Hi everybody!
I'm new on this business, so I don't know if this is the right place, the right time or the right question, but the issue is that I'm looking around for thin-and-light laptop, and I want to spend around 1400 Euros (say 1700$). My priorities are screen quality(brightness more than resolution), battery life, ergonomics and toughness, more or less in that order.
I've considered the Thinkpad Z60t/m, T43 (too expensive) but I'm now considering the new Vaio BX194. It's a beautiful machine with camera, fingerprint reader and niceties like that, with a great screen (it's now wide ratio, but I think I don't want that - do you think it's important? - I think it's not the best for web-browsing).
Now my problem is that the battery lasts very little in the VAIO (2 hours max?) which I think is ridiculous. Do normally the VAIOs admit a secondary or extended battery? I'd love to know your opinion.
I know it depends on the usage I'll give the computer, but at this stage it's difficult to say, that's why I want a laptop that can replace my desktop (meaning I want comfort rather than power) but that I can still move around easily (even though I don't travel a lot).
Do you know of any other problems of the BX series?
I'd appreciate your comments. Many thanks.

I have had a BX194 for 3 weeks.
I bought it to use for video conferencing - however it has no internal microphone and I did not receive the bluetooth headset that was advertised as part of the bundle on the website - so everyone can see me but no-one can hear me! Not much use for the purpose I bought it for unless I spend extra and buy a headset. I don't understand why a company would make a laptop that includes a built-in camera and no microphone?
I've also almost worn through the left-click button on the touchpad already - I would have thought that this should last at least for a month...
The main problem that I have with this laptop is the heat. It is far to hot to use on a lap - you would be burnt very quickly. This seems to be due to the fact that the fan hardly ever comes on (so at least it is very quiet to use!)
Overall I wouldn't recommend it!
Edit: By the way - the battery seems to last about 3 hours - depending on the settings (turning the brightness down quite a lot makes a big difference). -
wow taht hot eh? even integrated graphics?
Any opinions on the VAIO BX194 ?
