With Win8 coming (here!) and the move to the ultrabook style, are we to see an update to Sonys lineup anytime soon?

Ideally I'm looking for something like the S15, but with a bit more graphics power punch, and hopefully without the optical drive!
That or a decent 14" model with a FHD screen,

I'm sorry, but Sony just released products that aren't even sold to the public yet and are on preorder, and you're already talking about rumors for the next generation?

Honestly, you have to give it a couple more months before there will be rumor mills lying around. The Sony lineup was just updated like two weeks ago.

The next generation computers probably won't be released for another half a year, at least. Wait for CES.

The s15 640m can easily be over clocked to a 650 gt. And the optical can be swapped for a hard drive. Lots of instructions in the owners forum

Oh I typed out a post but it didn't submit :(

What are the new Sony models? I didn't see anything upcoming on tech blogs out on the web?
It's rare to see Sony in the news also, not great for them.

I don't see Sony abandoning the optical drive on the majority of its machines. I mean, this is the company that invented Blu-Ray! They're not going to just throw in the towel yet except for small ultraportables. Besides, an available optical drive is a distinguishing factor to a certain Cuptertino-based company that is also pushing portable multimedia machines.
