    I've got a SZ320CP

    every time I turn it on from hibernation it makes a loud welcome type noise even if it's in mute

    it's too noisy in my classes

    how do I turn it off?

    During startup hit F2 to access the BIOS ---- in the advanced settings, you can disable the VAIO startup logo animation and/or sound.
