I suspect there is some sort of an issue with newer Sony notebooks and HDtach. I am getting BSOD if I try running it on either of my new laptops, a VGN-S460B or VGN-FS660W. I thought it might have something to do with the hidden recover partition, but that does not seem to be the case. Just installed a new Seagate Momentus HD in the FS. What a difference it made! Still won't run HDtach though. As a side note, it locks up on Sandra2005 bench too. Both before and after the new drive. Sandra does run on the S460 though.

All the other drive benchmarks I use are working fine on both machines. This includes Speeddisk, PCMark2004 and HDTune. Machines seem to run fine too, just have problems with HDtach.

Anyone else get HDtach to work on their new S or FS series notebook?

    Thanks,
    David
