I have a VGN-Z690. I'm trying to install XP on it. It bluescreens before I even get as far as selecting the disc to install XP on - anyone have this experience and a way around it? I've tried four xp install discs.

    THanks.

Search this forum: you need SATA AHCI driver slipstreamed/integrated into Windows XP setup disk.

Thanks - I tried that - also tried using an external floppy with the drivers from Sony and the drivers from Intel direct - still got the BS. I finally managed to get my hands on the Sony restore disc for XP - seemed to be my only recourse.
