Interested in the FJ1S series and wondered if anyone had any opinions on this not much talked about notebooks. They seem goo light weight and look OK why no one discussiing them ?
-
my guess they are not discussed much because they are 14" notebooks with integrated graphics card...

I think klas is right on. They are very attractive looking, but the integrated graphics are what is killing them.

Thanks but would they be OK for MS Office + e-mail+internet browsing + Photoshop Elements+i Tunes+ Publisher maybe all occsassionally running at once if you had 512 or 1GB RAM in I notice the time to displaying digital photos from a Compact flash card can be quite a while when I use my Lifebook P7010 with 1GB RAM - would the FJ be any faster given it has the integrated graphics. That is what I would really like to know

I got the FJ1S with 512 MB DDR2 ram. Upgraded the ram to 1 GB myself using crucial. Overall very pleased with the machine. Its slightly more expensive than comparable machines but you do get a very nice screen and keyboard. Overall build quality is OK - you do hear the occasional creak when moving it around. Also the underside can get fairly hot when you are using the CPU a lot. I do not play games on this machine so I find the integrated graphics fine for what I use it for - web, watching dvds, writing software. I find the performance very good - subjectively it feels faster than by 2.8 Ghz P4 desktop. If I was purchasing I would definitely upgrade the ram.

I've seen the FJ in-store and I've got to say -- it's one of the most well built (nice and sturdy; amazing keyboard) and luxuriously designed laptops I've ever seen. As long as you're a non-gamer and don't mind it being a tad overpriced, it's really not a bad choice.
Anyone have FJ series vaios
