Has anyone tried swapping in a SSD drive into one of the SZ6XX series laptops? I just bought a SZ680N03 and am thinking of doing it. Was it hard? Which drive did you use?

You should wait till next year to do it. Are you willing to pay $500+ for 32GB of space (minus Vista), when next year you might be able to get at least 64GB cheaper?

I would think that some of the 16gb xpress card SSDs would work. Prices seem to start around $125. Might be worth playing with.

Hmm. This sounds like a good alternative to tide me over until next year as Jaya suggested. I'll start researching this. I wonder what the limitations of using an xpress card SSDs are. It would be pretty cool if I could put the OS on the xpress card and then use the internal hard disk for storage and programs. It would also be awesome for multiOS as you could have a Vista card and an XP card.

especially with the reported shortage on flash memory, 64GB will not be cheaper than the current 32GB by next year.
