The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Anyone seen the new Vaio B Series?

    Looking at this computer:

    A couple of things I noticed:
    No integrated Bluetooth
    Hard drive only max 4200 RPM

    Otherwise, it looks like a pretty nice machine. I'm considering this vs. the Compaq Presario V2000. Any thoughts?

    the other knock against it is Sony doesn't go with modular drives, so whatever you configure it with (CD Burner for instance) is what you're stuck with, if you decided you wanted to upgrade to a DVD Burner you'd have to buy a whole new machine or get an external drive.
