Useful feature or waste of space?

The switch mode is "meh" but the dock, with the quick launch buttons, i use that all the time.

The switch mode refers to your ability to switch backgrounds/dock items, but the switch functionality also gives you the dock...

The quicklaunch buttons are great, i dont even click things on my desktop anymore, in fact you could keep your desktop totally empty if you wish and just have your dock items, which are customizable..via simple drag and drag(much like the OS X dock)

I generally leave my desktop pretty empty. I do use the buttons of the switch mode very much.

I think it's a very useful feature for me, and I wouldn't trade it. Heh.

I hope that it does get some of the weird glitchiness that it sometimes has though. I do like the wallpaper switch thing, that's very convenient for me. It reminds me what icons that I have for that particular "mode".

Just got my SR today...quick question, is there any way to disable the switch button shortcuts? Not the "mode" button, but the five shortcut buttons...I've tried with no luck. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

Click on the Settings button (it's right next to the five buttons)
and check the box beside "auto hide"

It was interesting at first, but it's mostly a gimmick. I prefer to use Objectdock instead of the Mode Dock. Though the wallpaper switching is really cool. :D

Eh, but in the end, I disabled it.

I use it. I have 3 wallpapers that I use (Class/Home/Public). Also the quick buttons are nice to have.

Lets just say the home wallpaper would get a few stares out in public.
