I might be heading to the US and am looking into getting a new Z11 series. There are tons of models from what I can see- do all them have the basic stuff like back-lit keyboard and light-sensors? Also, all of them have GT330 as well with Optimus technology correct?

I am ok with the 2.4GHz Core i5 and 4GBRAM along with 128GB SSD which I think is the lowest end SSD model right?

Over in Uk this is the lowest model. I think you can try custom configure. i think is pretty much cheaper and you can call sony center for discount. I odne this in UK but u can try :)

Thanks- what about 3G support? Can the one built-in the US support other SIM cards for GSM networks?

I may be wrong but I think I read on one of the other threads that US models are locked to Verizon.

I think with the exchange rate th US model is no cheaper than UK and the WWLAN is unlocked. Also you get the full HD screen as a £50 upgrade :)

In the US, I can find it for about $1800 which is 1172UK Pounds. The UK Sony store is listing that same model (128GB SSD) for 1700UK Pounds which is over $2600! Am I looking in the wrong place?

    Also:
US stores always show prices without sales tax.
UK stores usually show prices with VAT (unless the ad is directed towards tax exempt businesses).

In other words, the GBP 1700 computer is really 1450 before final taxes. The rest of the difference is partially because of laws and regulations demanding that the seller offer far better warranties and reclamation rights than in the US, and partially because the US is a consumerist market where price matters more to the consumer than anything else.
