    Are all Sony Utilities the same?

    I want to install

    Setting Utility Series
    VAIO Control Center
    VAIO Launcher
    VAIO Power Management

    on my FZ430E and I want to be sure I don't install one that doesn't work.

    No they aren't, at least for installers. Some have a Vaio Launcher included with a different program, sometimes it is separate. Battery Care is sometimes labeled Battery Checker.

    Some work with some models, some do not.
    When using Win7 32bit on an SZ750, you use the default Sony apps. Battery care however will not function, so on Win7 64bit I use one from an earlier edition of Battery care, an older and separate app.

    That was my also experience with two SZs I owned. Utils which worked on one model didn't work on the other. You'll just have to experiment until you get a working set.

    I don't know how out of date my SZ drivers threads are now. I've owned a few other models since and now use an AW. From what I remember the utils in my earliest SZ post should be good for SZ1-4 and the utils in the SZ7 post should also work on the SZ6. There are prob newer versions avail now but if you just want a stable working set then give them a try.

    The programs you mentioned only compatible with the respective models and OS. So, if the programs are designed for FZ under Vista then they only work for FZ under Vista. They should work for any model of FZ but they won't work for any other models other than FZ.
