The z has different WWlan module. It is Expedite E725 and I am trying to activate the GPS without activating sprint service, but no success for now.

Does the Z really have a Sprint-locked wwan? I'm asking because there are way too many references in the software to VERIZON, and none to sprint. I think that even the name of the WWAN software is Verizon manager.... what gives?

Verizon's software is called VZAccess. My wife has AT&T in her HP, I have an embedded Verizon in my ToughBook. My speed and coverage almost always has hers beat when we are traveling. I was very hesitant going with Verizon at the start, but I can say without any hesitation I have not lost connection more than 5 times in the last year. It blows me away how reliable it is.

The best part for me is that when my Intel picks up a profile it will drop the Verizon and connect without you even knowing it. When you leave, it swaps back to Verizon. I have mine in my work van, always on the go, and it is a blessing for sure.

I just got a new Z the other day, I would love to figure out how I can get a GOBI card embedded in it.

It does not pay to be an early adopter....I was one of the first people to get the Z, and now i'm stuck with Sprint WWAN.
