    I have an SZ230 and wondered if there was any way to assign either the S1 or S2 shortcut buttons to turn off the screen when pressed? I know you can set up for the screen to turn off after a minute or more of inactivity in the power settings, but it would be very convenient if you could just press a button and it would turn off (and on again).

    Thanks.

    1. Download this file and place it in a non-temporary folder and remember the location.

    2. Click Start->Run and type: %programfiles%\Sony\Setting Utility Series\VCCSpecialButton.exe

    3. You will see options for S1 and S2. Choose "Launch Application" for whichever button you want to use and then click Advanced.

    4. In the advanced window, click the "..." button and go to where you stored MonitorOff.exe and select the application.

    5. Save the settings after you're done and press the button to test.

    Who composed this program?
    Regardless of whether it works or not, I would like to know.

    How come when I press my S2 button it works, but the screen only ges blaack for about 3seconds and returns to windows? This also happens when I run the application itself manually.
