Well at least for the calibration part.

I just bought the sony vaio fw with the eco-screen...which is beautiful by the way.
Everything was good until I wanted to see what where the specs in the ati catalyst controls.
Simply changed some things in the AVIVO settings (video calibration) like brigtness etc...knowing that I would eventually put the original settings back by clicking the default button, but it didn't put it back to it's original state.
So I then clicked put everything back to it's original state (another option) and still nothing was the same.

Now everything is ok but my videos look so pale compared to before.

I tried to restore windows (used system restore for windows on a save I had just after opening my computer) to it's original state and it worked except for those options

Does anybody now how to put those settings as the came with the computer without a complete system restore with the cds.

The only thing I remember is that the brightess was at 144, and some other thing was at 44, but don't remember the others.

    Can anyone help?
And can someone take some screenshots of all the settings that came in originally?

    Thanks :)

Just another little thing you might want to consider.
Using the Windows System restore generally messes up everything on your laptop.
(On my SZ it wouldn't shut down after sleep mode due to the system restore)
So in that resepct it may be a good idea to restore it fully to its factory settings.
(Or check if everthing you may (!!) need still works fine)

Thanks for the advise...really appreciate it :)
Really a shame for the windows system restore since I did it 3 times in a row :frown:
It didn't screw anything for now...was the system restore faulty only without sp1 or is the vista sp1 still vulnerable to system restore.

And a little precision..."ati catalist control total factory settings restore" are not the same as sony's vaio settings, so the calibration is way off...especially for movies...

    Other thoughs?
