I have a VGN-FE28GP and did a clean install of WIN XP. I downloaded all drivers from the Sony website, all except the Audio driver installed correctly.

I get the error msg :Device Object not present, restart the system and try again.

When I restart and try again I get the same error. Help please.....

    1. Check Device manager to see if anything shows up under audio devices.
    2. Make sure you've installed all of the other drivers (especially the ones like Sony Notebook Utilities).

Is sound playing when you boot up?
