    Hey guys -

Does anyone know the average time of return for an RMA on a SONY SZ-340P15?

It's been exactly one month since I received my new broken notebook and over 3 weeks since Newegg.com has received my faulty notebook for RMA.

I spoke to a few reps at Newegg.com and they said 2-3 weeks since they have to ship the notebook back to SONY.

    Let's say I am a disappointed customer.

Anyone have a similar experience? Is this normal wait time?

    Take care,
    Surreal

I've had only great customer service experiences with newegg. The holdup might be with Sony.

If they don't get your money back within the stated time (NewEgg said 3 weeks you said?), you can always file a BBB complaint against both Sony and NewEgg.

Thanks for the advice. I don't want to play a bad customer because I know Newegg.com is a great place to do business. This is the first problem I had with them but it's a costly one.

If this is for money back and you paid with credit card, I strongly recommend that you file a dispute with your credit card company. It will speed things up.

Why do you think you are a bad customer if you demand something from newegg?? Personally, Newegg should have sent you another computer out right the way and sent the defective one back to their merchant as a defective product for credit. Remember you bought it brand new and it's less than what 1 week old when you discover the defect? It's not like you had the notebook for months then that would be a different story. Personally that's the reason why I hate to purchase high dollar valued product over the internet to save myself a few bucks, and end up with more headache that money can't cure. So I always buy high dollar valued product locally, that way if I have any problem with it, I can get it exchanged right the way instead of playing the waiting game like you are now. Btw, of most product I bought from newegg are defective, don't ask me why. but that's the real life story. So for me I am only at newegg to read customer reviews but I won't dare to even buy there.
    My 2 cents.

Newegg should not make you wait until Sony RMA's the laptop. Since you bought new, they should send you a new one right back out....Even cross ship as the others do it this way.

This is why I won't buy any big ticket items from Newegg.
