When I look in the registry of my vaio laptop, it says "System Bios date...02/08/2007" and below that it has
    "System BIOS Version.............Sony - 20070208 Phoenix NoteBIOS 4.0 Release 6.Ver 1.00 PARTTBL".

So does that mean the date of the actual System BIOS software is 02/08/2007 or does that just mean it was installed on my particular laptop 02/08/2007?

Below this it has "Video BIOS Date.....6/11/01" which is way before this computer was made so this has to be the actual software version date, which makes me think the System BIOS date also refers to the software itself and not when it was installed.

it´s the date of the bios - when it was released, not when it was installed.
