    Hello everyone!

    I have a Sony SZ240P, and I have the regular battery (BPS2C).

I'm going on a long transatlantic flight and I thought I'd buy the extended battery too.

I'm not buying the (~$240) OEM battery that's just overkill. I've seen many batteries on Ebay whenever I search for "BPL2C" but all the results are actually BPL2 batteries.

I know the BPL2 batteries are for the old S-series, but are they compatable with my SZ240? What are the differences between the two they seem very similiar.

    Input highly appreciated.

    Thanks.

From what I've heard, the UL (Underwriters Labs) had an update to their battery spec requirements, and the BPL2C is a reflection on those changes. I've heard they work on the SZ's but it's not something I'd try.

Buying additional notebook batteries is expensive. If you weigh the potential problems though against saving a little money--you may decide to stick with the battery that was designed for your system. Notebook batteries are specially designed for the system they'll be used with. There may be intricate differences between the two series that may or may not cause problems with your SZ.
