According to the press release:
14" starts at $1350
15.4" starts at $1300
17" starts at $1580
I've gone to the Japanese Sony Style site and have played around with the configurator there. All in all, the options cost about the same as those for the S series. But to be complete, here is what I got (translated to USD). This is only for the 14" version since that's the one that I think most people are interested in.
- Upgrade to SXGA+ ($100)
- Upgrade to ATI Mobility Radeon X700 ($100)
- Upgrade from Celeron to Pentium-M 1.7 GHz ($150)
- Upgrade to 2 GHz ($350)
- Upgrade to 2.26 GHz ($800?!)
- Upgrade to 60 GB ($50)
- Upgrade to 80 GB ($100)
- Upgrade to 100 GB ($200)
- Upgrade to 120 GB ($350)
- Upgrade to DVD Burner ($150)
- Upgrade to 512 MB Memory ($75)
- Upgrade to 1 GB Memory ($175)
-------------------------
Putting everything together, let's make up a configuration and guess a reasonable price.
$1350 base
- Upgrade to SXGA+ ($100)
- Upgrade to ATI Mobility Radeon X700 ($100)
- Upgrade from Celeron to Pentium-M 1.7 GHz ($150)
- Upgrade to DVD Burner ($150)
- Do-it-yourself upgrade memory to 1.25 GB ($100)
- Upgrade to 60 GB ($50)
$2000. Not too bad considering you get XP Pro, wireless, bluetooth, and all those by standard. I even configured the exact same specs in an S series and the S series "only" cost $200 less. $200 for an upgrade to 14" SXGA+ and X700 seems pretty good for me.![]()

-
Will Costco carry these?

If Costco carried the B series (I don't know if they did), they will carry this one.
