After I customized a BX notebook and add it to cart, Sony SMB website doesn't respond. Sooner, I got a website error, then I go back Sony SMB BX sereies homepage to recustomize my notebook again... surprisingly, 4 new BX models appears that weren't there before.

Here's a list of models they added but prices still are not available:
    BX546BW (14.1" SXGA, x700, WAN) <-- this is what I want!
    BX567B
    BX565B
    BX563B

Today, they had the option of adding the 256MB x700 onto your 15.4" for $140 but the option has now been removed.

I'm starting to worry about the BX. Under the specs of the 14.1" listed with the x700, they have the the dimensions with a 1.4"-1.5" thickness. Thats really thick for a 14.1" thin and light. The IBM T43 is 1.0" They're the same weight, so I'm wondering about how the construction of the BX feels.

You're right - that is pretty thick for a 14.1" notebook. It may be thicker to accomodate the cooling solution for the X700, but I'm not quite sure.

Also - just so everybody knows - the X700 option in the BX is 128MB dedicated memory, and 128MB Hypermemory (shared).

Question about hypermemory, if I get an IBM T43 with a 64mb x300, do I still get the 128MB Hypermemory from the chipset? So I'd have 192MB according to Sony?

Alright, so Sony just screwed up, the dimensions I was reading that said 1.4-1.5" for the 14.1" BX were the exact same dimensions as the 15.7" BX, which means some Sony web developer just got lazy copy and pasting. So we're back to the 1.32-1.34" thickness, which is still pretty thick for a thin and light.

I really wish I could see one of these in person before buying it. I'm tempted to buy a T43 and a BX and put them next to eachother and return one.

HyperMemory is software-enabled, so if you installed the latest ATi Catalyst drivers (5.7 and up - 5.10a is the latest) HyperMemory is enabled by default, and will borrow memory as needed, up to 192 - that is correct, so you'd have a total of 256MB.
