So, my FZ was sent in for repair in December because of Nvidia graphics card problem. I got it back a few days ago, and the screen died on me. I think the backlight LED on the LCD is broken, since I can see the things on the monitor (i.e. I can see the content) but it's REALLY dark that I literally have to put my face up against it. Of course I tried turning up the brightness, rebooting, turning it on after few hours and it still didn't work.
Anyone have an experience getting the screen repaired? Mine's out of warranty (over a year old) and I'm wondering how much it costs.
tl;dr - Backlight on screen is dead. How much will it cost to fix it?
Thanks!

Yep, I'd wager it's the backlight inverter, not so much the backlight itself, that is if you haven't dropped the notebook. And inverters aren't too bad on the bank account.. I got one for my Acer and it was something like $20 off eBay.

I run laptop repair Birmingham and have fixed many screens 9 out of 10 are because of the inverter. Check out ebay for a good deal. Just make sure you buy from UK as you might have to wait a few weeks if it's from China!
