    How can I make backup bios?
    What programs and from their download? I tried Application - Winphlash Advanced, Version - 1.03.046, but without current original bios file not possible. Sony cannot answer this question or do not want to.
    Thank you! Sorry for my English.

    You want to back up the BIOS just in case something goes wrong or you want to use the BIOS from another computer because you updated yours an you want to roll back?

    Yes, I want to back up the BIOS just in case something goes wrong.

    I have problem with DMI, in system information - System Model-5, should be-VGN-AR61ZRU and in VAIO Control Center System Model-5 too. In bios - too(see attachment file). I need my bios R2080J8, I never can find update BIOS to my laptop. Therefore I want to use the BIOS from another computer.

    @Gals
    Hi. Please can you send me yours default.txt or modified.txt that you used for your VAIO VGN-AR61ZRU(or AR61ZU), bios R2080J8 ?

    I have an VAIO VGN-AR61ZU, and after i installed a driver for OEM compatible battery, my laptop dies. That driver flash some data in the original bios and i now have a nice Sony Vaio brick.
    So, please can you send me any of your R2080J8 file that i can use to reconstruct and flash my bios?
    My email: [email protected]

    Thank you!

    Hi, the same problem of AR61ZU occurred to me (my laptop is AR61E, but the bios is the Phoenix R2080J8 for both the models), can anyone help me, sending the original bios to flash in the eeprom? Neither Sony provides it, nor I was able to find it on the internet, so you're my last hope... Thank you!

    Just out of curiosity why does it matter what shows up in DMI?

    You can't make a recoveryinstallation of your Os if your DMI information is wrong.
