Hey, I have a couple of questions regarding Sony's warranty. I'm about 8 months into my 3 yr warranty

I foolishly deleted my backup partition after making backup discs, and now those discs have been destroyed. Does anyone know if Sony will send me new discs or rewrite my hd to the manufactured state? Thx

Also, my Vaio SR has developed a few small pressure marks on the LCD visible from an angle. I don't put a lot of pressure on my laptop and I always use a neoprene case, but I am assuming this must not be enough for protection. Now I would assume that they would call this user damage (although I would like to think it wasn't my fault), but has anyone been successful in getting Sony to replace an LCD for this reason? If not, does anyone know how much Sony charges for this? I didn't buy the Accidental protection plan either.

Also, my extra battery that I haven't used in about a month is not working. When I plug it in, the computer doesn't recognize it at all. Any suggestions to what this could be? thx
