Full image backup of disk C: (3 partitions) using Macrium Reflect Free Edition.
From SSD Raid 0 (3x64 GB) to external USB 3.0 Freecom 1.5 TB

    Very impressive speed

59MB/sec is pretty much exactly the speed USB 2.0 (not 3) "should" be (that's 480Mbps pretty much on the nose). Too bad we need usb 3 to hit speeds that usb 2 should've done :(

Formally you are right but the same job has been performed at 9 MB/s on a USB 2.0 drive.

Those time are all including all necessary overhead in backing up process.

I think that 6.5 ratio (in theory it should be ratio 10) better than USB 2.0 is not too bad.

I agree it's way better than what we get on USB 2.0...I'm saying USB 2.0 "should've" been this fast :)

Overhead plays into it. Fact is that USB 3 is likely to pan out as 2-3 times as fast as USB 2. For large jobs like backups, that leads to some tangible time savings :)

Why dont you just copy some ISO file from SSD directly to usb 3.0 drive? Process of making backup also take some time away.
