    Hiya all,
Sorry for posting these questions, I Know you get a lot of this on a daily basis. I've had a look online and also tired phoning the customer support - however was met with a man I couldnt understand who was asking me stupid questions such as specific date of purchase.

Basically, a colleauge here installed some driver updates for a Vaio laptop(VGN FZ21E) When the laptop was rebooted a message came up saying the battery was incompaible and needed to be removed (uh hoh) So ive uninstalled what they installed, and also performed a system restore, however the same thing is appearing. Is there any way of accessing the battery options from BIOS or restoring default settings?

Hi there, I remember seeing the same issues on users who have done a clean install of Vista and did not install some drivers properly. Look on this thread here to see if it matches your error message. Basically, the solution is:

Microsoft® Windows Vista® Service Pack 1 (SP1) must be installed before installing the Sony Notebook Utilities. If you have performed a clean install of the Microsoft® Windows Vista® 64-bit operating system (i.e., installed from a commercial, off-the-shelf, version rather than using the Recovery Wizard or Recovery Media Kit), please install Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) using Windows Update or from the Microsoft web site.

I would try to fix this by uninstalling the notebook utilities and the Sony Shared libraries, then re-installing them again. If that still doesn't work, just roll back to your old drivers.
