I am leaving my FE21M at university whilst I travel back home, for 15 days... I read somewhere you should leave your battery level at around 40% when you don't use your laptop for a while. Any ideas, corrections, comments? Many thanks.

I have read that storing Li-ion batteries at 40% in a fridge (NOT freezer) is the best way to slow down the battery's natural degradation (down to 2% per year).

Must agree with the last post... sounds very odd! I doubt I can leave it in the fridge though, as it's an open kitchen (random parties will go on) and as odd as it sounds, I don't want my laptop battery to get stolen! (££££ ;)

The cooler temps you store it in, the better. Your fridge works, but make sure it's sealed because you don't want moisture on that battery.

Personally, I'd just store it somewhere cool (i.e. not next to a heater). Like you already mentioned, leave the charge around 40%.
