I was just wondering what the battery life difference people are getting between xp and vista on their notebooks, Some tests ive seen dont show a noticeable increase in power consumption but real life tests often show otherwise.

on my sz240p the battery life dipped quite a bit. if/when we get a way to turn off bluetooth, that might help some. i've noticed that the cooling fan has been running a bit more, as well.

Seems roughly the same to me. Turning off bluetooth is pretty key as is keeping the backlight in check. (You turn off Bluetooth using the Lan SWitcher utility--green square--in the task bar. Took me quite a while to find it as well.)

Is VAIO power management still enabled in Vista? I know MS was plugging Vista as having more power management options geared at notebook users.
