    Battery question: How to disconnect the battery but having it connected to the laptop?

    I want to know if I can leave the battery in my TZ 250 but not have the laptop run on it (to save my battery's life) when I am using AC power. Thanks!!

    Put a piece of paper or tape over the metal contacts.

    Yes it is, as long as the piece of something you put there is not an electricity conductor... :)

    Why not use the battery care function.
    It stops charge at set point. This is included in the TZ.

    battery will not be used as long as ac adapter is connected.. default power will come from ac adapter.. batt will not be over charged.

    I'll never forget how my coworker meticulously took the battery out of his laptop every day and it still died after just one year. It probably was defective to begin with - which says the moral - if the battery is has no manufacturing defects than nothing special sould be done.
