I have a weird problem recently with my Vaio SZ28 GP/C (SZ280). The battery suddenly stops charging at 98%. At first, i thought it would take some time to go to 99% but it's still there after an hour. I guess the battery total capacity is a bit decreased due to overcharges (so far less than 5 times but long time ago). :(

anyone had this problem before? pls enlighten me... is there anyway to fix this?

try recalibrating the battery by letting it run all the way down, unplugged, then charge it up again, this does the trick on my thinkpad, also check your battery health

You could also check out Notebook Hardware Control (NHC) - it can give you detailed information on your battery, including wear levels (on the Battery tab, click the little icon next to the drop down which says "Battery 0").

You can download NHC from: http://www.pbus-167.com/
