While starting the notebook, it beeps, (short toned but continuous) and pressing Alt / Ctrl or function keys stops that noise , then system getting booted. In the login screen, in the password field automatically populated with "*" and entering correct password get into a windows.
Every key is working except 'p' and this sometimes works. But to my wonder, this key automatically getting typed in text areas frequently. it continuously prints that key whenever focus goes on the text area.
please help to fix this weird issue.
Thanks in Advance.

Sounds like a stuck P key. If cleaning around the key doesn't help, you may have to follow the repair manual instructions to remove and really clean the keyboard. Worst case, you can order and replace with a new one for under $100. I've done that recently with an older compaq in 20 minutes.

It doesn't look like stuck P key. If so, then, what causes the beep sound at start up? Also the key p (not at all pressed from key board) automatically types in in text area.

Usually a stuck key during boot causes the system to beep like that. It still sounds like that key to me especially given your description.

no, its not stuck. even i cleared dirt and debris too.

I had to register just to say. I have the same exact problem. I have a dell xps 1640 and somehow the "p" key gets stuck...when system boots it just makes that annoying sound as if the key as being held down. And when I log on (after erasing all the "p" it creates), the p key wont work. RIGHT NOW...it started working randomly. But lately, it's been happening and me no like. I use this computer for programming.

Turn the computer upside down and tap on it (a lot of dirt may fall out)
Tap on different parts while changing the angle. Concentrate on the area behind the p key. Turn it over and use compressed air to loosen up dirt and blow things out. Then turn it over and tap some more.
It can happen that dirt or debris can cause a stuck key problem (which you DO seem to have a stuck key problem)
If you are very lucky then doing this will alleviate the problem, It can also happen that you simply blow the thing that was causing the problem, to another key
In which case, at least you know what to do
When the computer boots up, one of the things it scans for is a clear keyboard. If you are holding a key down you will get the same kind of warning beeps you are hearing now.
Beep sound at start up and key 'p' is not working
