I didnt want to try GMA950, because results would by the same.. But, where is the problem in Vista? 4 times lower score? Driver or Vista problem?
How many points do YOU have?
-
-
Well Vista will be slower but not that much I expect.
Did you do a clean Vista install?
How many programs (like virus scanners, utilities, printersoftware etc, etc.) do you have running? -
yes, it is from clean install
i have only several programs - nod32, logitech set point, live messenger, miranda and needed sw from sony (protector suite ql, some connectivity utility, touch pad utility)..
drivers for nvidia were downloaded from sony, installed correctly (all settings form control panel are working), but i cant play a game... any game.. -
First of all it might be good to get a benchmark result from someone else. Maybe that Czech website made a mistake.
Second make sure you have the same version Direct X as they do.
Have you looked at your Bios settings?
You might want to install some system diagnostics like Notebook Hardware control just to check that every thing is running at the right speed.
Then there could be certain settings in sony's utilities making the bus speed at lower Mhz. check that too.
Final solution: Install XP. -
I thought about downgrade to XP too, but today I fixed it, probably. I uninstalled drivers, ran driver cleaner and restart. Then I found a number of reactions, that 7400 works quite good with 158.45. So i browsed to laptopvideo2go, downloaded modded inf and drivers and installed. Result? 10066 points (still not good as others - see ORB at www.futuremark.com, if you dont have account, look at attachement), which is way better.
But, another thing? Is it possible to set somewhere, how many MB do I want to share? Because everything writes that it has still 64MB... In BIOS? I havent found it anywhere in Vista neither driver options..Attached Files:
