    Hi Guys ,

I bought a Sony Vaio FS550 laptop from Best Buy. They gave me a service plan for 3 yrs for $299.
I am not sure how much is it worth it. The laptop comes with a warranty of 1 yr from Sony. I am not sure whether taking this service plan is worth it or not.

    Need your views on this.

    Thanx

You are better off buying a warranty from the manufacturer than the retailer. Two extra years, for a total of three, of mail in service for Sony notebooks is $199 on their website. Best Buy makes a lot of money on these and there are usually a lot of exceptions and disclaimers. If a notebook makes it the first year, it will probably make it a few more. Problems tend to happen early if there is a defect somewhere. Good Luck.
