Where is the best place to buy this laptop? I have a SonyStyle store close by, so it would be convenioent to buy from them.

I bought my SZ260 from Micro Center for 2249. At the same time I was looking at a SZ270 (with Edge) on sonystyle.com. When I called sonystyle they dropped from 2499 to 2399 and offered to take my order. I use the Verizon EVDO service so I bought from Micro Center. I haven't seen a better deal on this model yet. I ordered 2gig of ram from tigerdirect for 180 shipped. I have my old ram on craigslist.com. That is the best I could do as of June 25th.

PS I bought an extra standard battery and the charger so I always have a fresh battery. After you register your notebook with sony they will give you 20% accessories coupon.

Any other suggestions? $2400 for a laptop is hardly a deal.

If you are looking at the premium models, then you won't find it for lower than $2200 before tax and/or shipping. The regular SZ models can be found for $1400 or $1500 online.

As for Premium SZ's, if one is paying by credit card and takes into consideration the total cost then the SonyStyle store's VGN-SV260/P at $2299 with 0 payments/0 interest for 12 months on Sony credit is hard to beat right now.

Just ordered a SZ230 from Black & White Photo. They priced match the low $ at Cir. City--$1899. No sales tax @ BW but $22.00 shipping. Sales tax @ Cir City would have been $171.00. Therefore a savings of about $150.00.

Can you get a better deal for a Premium than from a SonyStyle store?

I have never seen such a thing.

'raiderlax27' said he/she got the "best deal [he/she] could find" from PortableOne but their SX Premium prices are exactly the same as the Sony store, at least according to their website.

Not sure how that is such a great "deal" unless PortableOne doesn't add sales tax and provides free insured shipping.

I suppose one could always try eBay.

Best deal in Ukraine its in Kiev internet shop mobitrade.( http://mobitrade.kiev.ua/?kt=16065)
Sz 250 costs 2800$. In the normal shops like unitrade it costs 4000$. (Not joke)
Even for this price you dont get official notebook and guarantie, coz Sony not official sells notebooks in Ukraine.
