I have been looking at various SZ configs for quite a while. I wanted a premium model with WAN and a fairly quick Penryn CPU.
I was willing to settle for the 2.4ghz CPU, so the best fit for me in terms of price and features was the 780NW. Here's what I bought:
$1,579 SZ780NW, 160gb, 2gb, 2.4ghz, WAN, Vista Business, from PC Superstore. I hadn't dealt with these folks before, but they have good reviews on resellerratings, and the best price I found on this model.
$140 (after $30 rebate, Newegg) 200GB/7200RPM drive to upgrade from the stock 160gb
$35 (Newegg) 2GB ram module to upgrade to a total of 3gb
$150 (Newegg) 2-yr onsite/accident warranty
Total cost was about $1,900 for a loaded premium 700 series SZ, plus I have the 160gb drive and 1 1GB ram stick left oery pleased withver.
The hard drive swap was a bit of a pain. It can be tricky getting the keyboard out as there is hardly any room around it to pry it up. I also managed to screw up the first set of recovery disks, so I had to swap the stock drive back in to repeat that process.
And yes, the bloatware on this machine is a pain and time-consuming to remove. If I were doing it all over I would order the clean recovery disks from portable one.
I was also concerned about the possibility of dead or stuck pixels but all was good.

Not bad amigo. I paid $1,999 for the same configuration from P1 including the docking station with free bloatware removal. Purchased additional 2GB chip memory separately and have stock 160GB 7200 RPM Hitachi drive. Machine came in last week and have been busy updating and tweaking it. Works great with my Syncmaster 181T at 1280 x 1024 via dock. Enjoy yours as I am enjoying mine.
Best SZ deal that I've found
