I know not everyone like to use screen protector, but if you do, please give me some suggestions of what are some best screen protectors avaliavle in the market.
BTW, I heard the contrast on Xbrite-ECO screen isn't that good if there is another layer on the screen, is it true?
Thanks![]()

I personally wouldn't bother unless you're a fiend for jabbing the screen with dirty fingers... because it'll no doubt make the screen look worse and if you are too careless with a fragile piece of electronics then it's going to take more than a layer of film to save it from damage.
But if you insist on using one, Sony offer one for privacy but that will severely limit the viewing angles of the screen (which is what it's designed to do, of course!). -
Privacy problem should not be an issue for sony screen since you can't really see what's on the screen above certain viewing angle. LOL
I'm look for something that protect screen from scratching and dirts, and I found this from a online webesite. Please let me know what do you guys think. Thanks.

I would say don't worry about it. I've gone through eight Vaios here and not once has the screen ever been scratched. Just be smart about who you let near it and don't let people point at things on-screen.
If you have children around (and you're concerned about them) then invest in the privacy filter - it's thick enough to prevent them from gouging the screen and any fingernails will end up only scratching the filter. Of course, if your kids are playing around your notebook then you have other problems. -
Having a screen protector is a good idea since a LCD screen can be the most expensive part to replace and screen protectors can be had for around $10. I currently use "EXiM Screen Protector Sony VAIO SZ & S series 13.3"
http://www.eximscreenprotector.com/ultraclear.php
It does very good job of stopping scratches and dust. However it does slighty reduce screen brightness and sharpness. They claim 99% Optical Clarity with 90% Visible Light which is about right but better than a lot of noname brands. You only get one screen protector when you buy it but it uses a silicone backing which makes it reusable.
For a total of $10 i would say that is money well spent on protecting your 2-3 grand laptop, mayeb even get a keyboard protector. However if you like some other users and money is no option then you can probably do without as i do find the reduction in screen quality and sharpness a little distracting. -
I'm using a "matte" screen protector on my SZ. It is not too bad IMO. Hope the following link helps.

Is "Transparency" the most important factor when comparing screen protectors? 99% is the best in the market?
Thanks.
