    Hello,

I finally was able to see the s260p and like it a lot, especially the lcd on the xbrite with 1280x800.

However it is just a a little short in height. Any other laptops that the have that quasi sxga+ in xbrite, or maybe clearview or any of it's other names in a lighter laptop.

Would like to get something close to the quality of the sony lcd if it is not a sony.

    Thanks,
    David

As I said in the Hardware section, there is none that's light. The closest thing is Fujitsu S7000 with 14" LCD, but it uses an integrated video card and the clearview only comes with 1024x768 XGA resolution. The next best thing will be 15" models from Sony, Fujitsu, or Toshiba, but they are definitely more than 5 lb.

Thanks Skyshade. I listened to what you said which is why I found a store that carried both and went in and saw them both.

I must say I was impressed mightily with the Sony screen, even better than pictures made it seem. I was more impressed by the build quality of the Fujitsi vs the Sony. It just seemed nicer.

After seeing them, I would take something in the 6lb range which seems to be the next step up, if it has that high res, xbrite like screen.

I have been leary of Sony since so many people say that they are not long term quality.
