    Folks, need quick help...

INR 69000/- is big money in India, and I need all the advice that I can from the kind fellas on this forum :)

After configuring the Dell M1210 on the Dell India website (where I live),
a T2300 with the webcam option, Go7400, Audigy, BT, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB 5400rpm is coming to US $1500 equivalent (Incl. delivery & Taxes)

However, a friend suggested the Sony SZ240 instead...
    A very similar config:
    T2300/webcam/Go7400/1GB/60GB is coming for $1470

Now I am visiting the US for a couple of weeks next month, and am in 2 minds whether I should order the Dell M1210 before I leave so that it arrives by the time I am back in India, or should I pick up the Sony SZ240 while in the US...

Esp given the fact that the prices are pretty much the smae, I am split midway between the two

A little bit of lurking on this forum led me to the following:

    Sony:
Pros- Lighter, Bigger Screen, sleeker looks (subjective), ability to switch b/w Integrated Gfx/Go7400

Cons: Bigger form factor (though thinner) and (perhaps) questionable build quality (Non premium model) and a sad keyboard

    Dell:

Pros: Smaller form factor, Local warranty + 1 yesr complete cover, Better build quality (Arguable)
Cons: 12.1" vs 13.3" on the Sony and the Sony being lighter despite that

Since I have seen neither of the laptops in person, I am really unable to decide now, and need to decide quick...
The answer perhaps would depend on the following?:

    A) Is the SZ's buld quality really questionable? Does the screen have that dreaded ripple problem?
    B) Is the form factor of the Dell noticeably smaller than the Sony?

+ any other factors that youf feel can help me swing the decision either way
Hoping for a bunch of replys....Thanks!

    Thanks Matt.

Please don't double post. If you need a comparison between two manufacturers it is best to create 1 thread in the "What Should I Buy forum".
