    Hi Folks,
I have a SZ61WNC machine with XP downgrade on it. Everythings been working fine until suddenly the fingerprint reader stopped working.

The QL Suite says device is not connected. I can see it under - Device Manager and in Control panel i can use the tester and see that it does pick up a swipe in test mode.

I reinstalled the ql suite as well as the driver however still no luck.

    Any help??
    Cheers
    S

Question, does your other USB attached devices work well? what about your webcam? if not , thenit could be the "USB devices failed issue"

Other devices work. - usb hard drivers, my ps3 joystick, pda via usb all of them!
downloaded the test utility from QL that tests if the sensor works. viola - i get the green 1 as result which means its passed tests sucessfully.
However theres no way the ql suite will talk to the device.
will unintsall n install an older version. perhaps the 5.8 (latest one) may work.

No Luck!!! Its installed another set of drivers. Its now recognised as touchchip biomentric reader. the utility still says that its a valid device. but the application doesnt detect it still.
    its so frustrating!!

Heres a solution that someone posted a while back.

Unplug the system. shut it down. remove the battery. Let it sit idle for some time - maybe half hour, maybe hour. then put everything back again.
