    I recently was having problems with IE, I couldn't loggin to certain websites, and with Firefox! So I decided to restore the computer a couple days back under SAFE MODE, because it wouldn't restore otherwise. Once it restored in SAFE MODE, the PC restarted normally but then in the Biometrics LOGIN, it had text on the bottom saying, "connect the device in the propper USB." Or something along those lines, weird because it's built in, so I had to log in using my password. Once I logged in and windows was starting up, I got a error bubble on the bottom right corner comming from the Protector Suite saying, "Cannot enroll user" "Cannot find fingerprint sensor device." I tried restoring the PC almost 4 times and this error keeps popping up!

    Did anybody encouner this error while a restore?!?

    If there's any solution to this PLEASE HELP?!?

    Thanks

    What I mean by restoring is restoring it a couple days back, not the entire computer!

    Please, any comments, solutions, I'll gladly appreciate it!

    Have you tried to remove and reinstall the device drivers in the device manager?

    Yes I have. . It says the following:

    The software for this device is now installed, but may not work corectly.
    This Device cannot start. (Code 10)

    Anybody know what might be the problem?

    start--> rightclick My computer-->properties-->hardware-->device manager-->find the fingerprint thingy--> rightclick-->properties-->driver-->uninstall/update/install driver-->no-->specific location-->dont search,I'll choose-->pick bio-->"have disk"--> pick the driver youve dl'd from somewhere

    That should work. Someone correct if I'm in the wrong tracks here.

    It didn't work! Unless I did something wrong! When you said "pick the driver you've dl'd from somewhere" What do you mean?!? The driver and the Biometrics was already installed when I got the PC. So I wasn't sure of what you meant by that. I basically did the same thing earlier, I uninstalled the driver and manually installed it again using Add Hardware! The same error came out:

    The software for this device is now installed, but may not work corectly.
    This Device cannot start. (Code 10)

    Please tell me I'm doing something wrong! Or if there's another way because I don't have any of the VAIO Boot/Restore DVD nor the VAIO Windows Vista Business DVD either! It didn't come with it! Otherwise I would have probably Restore My Entire Computer!

    ThanKs though Hunningolla. .

    Or you could make your own boot cd with Mujja 's thread, and then install the drivers on a fresh install. Easiest is to buy the P1 set.
