    I own Vaio CR14/GN

    I forgot my bios password how can i reset it?

    If users could easily reset BIOS passwords, they wouldn't be useful for theft prevention. Yes, you need to contact Sony, who will want to verify that you're a legitimate owner of the machine.

    That said, many laptop manufacturers have backdoor passwords, known to every petty thief. Sony, to my knowledge, has not leaked many BIOS backdoor passwords, which is good.
