I have an SZ280P that I got about 10-11 months ago. Just the other day, I noticed I had a very strange battery problem:

I would unplug the AC power, and the LEDs would start flashing and tell me to plug in the AC or it would shut off, reporting a batter level of 0%. I would then plug in, and it would report "charging" (still 0%). I tried taking out and reinserting the battery and it had no visible/immediate effect. When I would unplug maybe a couple hours later, the battery would be back at 100%. This problem has repeated itself a number of times over the past couple of days.

Any ideas as to what may be going on?

Try reinstalling the two things that may be corrupted:

    -Battery check utility
    -Vaio event service

Under power management try decreasing alarms or turn them off, you may have a weared out battery.

If your absolutely sure that your battery has little wear I think its best to do a restore or reinstall windows.

    Hope that helps.
